- Best forBest for a toddler who is newly mobile and needs chasing practice. A quiet household should look elsewhere.
What it is
Tap the shell and it goes. That one gesture is the whole interface, which is right for the age — a toddler who has to find and operate a switch has already lost interest before the toy starts moving.
Every bounce brings a different sound rather than the same one on a loop, and the variation is what keeps a one-year-old following it across the rug. Chasing it is the point: neck control, balance and visual tracking all get a workout while the child thinks they are simply catching a monster.
Plush textures over rounded edges, BPA-free, and sturdy enough for the part of toddlerhood where affection and violence look similar. It arrives in a printed gift box, which saves wrapping it.

We got the monster one. Doesn’t seem to have the voice repeat feature though. My granddaughter (age 1) thinks it’s funny and she loves it. She’s able to smack it herself and get it moving. It’s really vibrates and runs across the carpeted floors. It was a great choice for a present. It’s a great size for her to pick up and throw.
Oh my gosh. This is the funniest toy
I bought this for my grandsons first Christmas. At the time he was right at 1 year old. He absolutely loves this toy. His mother generally prefers a more Montessori approach but cannot help be tickled watching him chase after this. I do have to note that it blows through the batteries though and I might not have gotten it if I had known that before hand which is why I took 1 star away.
I got this for my great granddaughter. She loved it.
DO NOT BUY!!! I have had this product for 1 day. It was fun while it lasted, but the batteries got so hot they burned to touch! It melted the plastic where the screw goes in. Luckily I though to open in up as soon as it quit working or it probably would have caught fire!
Super funny with little kids.
